Hotels
Zargaron Plaza Hotel was opened in 2009. The hotel is located 3 km from the airport and 12 km from the train station. It is 1.5 km from the old town (it is a good 15-20 minutes walk to the old city) and the historical part of Bukhara. A very nice early morning walk that surely is recommended- get out of bed before 6 am and have breakfast when you return (or in the old town). The lobby is frequently used by photographers shooting bridal pictures.
Hotel Zargaron Plaza offers spacious rooms with big bathrooms, with a soft mattresses, unusual for Uzbekistan as Uzbek beds are for the most part quite hard. The rooms of the hotel are very pleasant and sufficiently equipped for a comfortable stay. Bathroom have a line to hang laundry, but no bathroom goodies, although a hairdryer. The hotel has 36 Standard Rooms and 4 Deluxe.
Hotel Zargaron Plaza has a restaurant with national and European cuisine, bar and outdoor cafe. Breakfast à la carte, you inform when you'll go there, the night before, and they're ready to serve you in the morning. Breakfast is adequate, with a reasonable choice of the usual fare but nothing special. Try to visit the bar that is also accessible to locals, so you may have to put up with hookay-smoking or a noisy group, but it's fun, the staff is friendly and the beer is cold - and reasonably priced.
Staff friendly and trying to help always.
All in all adequate hotel slightly far from the historical part of Bukhara. Nice service and reasonable comfort.
