Hotels
Royal Palace Hotel is located close to the center of the city, about 20-30 minutes walk from the Old town with its main sightseeing’s area (Registan, Gur Emir, Siab Market etc.), the Central park and “Kritiy Rinok” (Uzbek market). You can easily find many restaurants and café nearby to go out for a dinner or a drink in the evening. The hotel décor is modern with some touches of national Uzbek style giving it some local charm.
Rooms are clean. Slippers and bathrobes are provided along with two cups and a boiling kettle. Ask for the rooms overlooking the yard, to have a quiet night. There is no tea/coffee sachets as well as bottled water in the room, few options in the minibar, no alcohol. But there is a supermarket downstairs, though, in case you need to buy smth. Bed and bathroom are adequate.
The wi-fi is free with good speed all the time, no water or electricity problems. TV channels are in many languages.
Breakfast is not limited, but would not call it plentiful, just OK. The in-room dining is not available, there is no other restaurant at the hotel either, bit there is a wonderful local restaurant called "Samarkand" down the street, where the food is seriously delicious and very authentic. You can also visit Blues Café to have a drink and listen to some blues tunes.
The location, wi-fi and service are good, but some minor drawbacks leave not the best impression. Some efforts in management and this will be a decent hotel.
