Hotels
Rizo is a new small family hotel with the ideal location, just 2 mins walk far from the central Lyabi square in the heart of the old city. The street is very peaceful though that will guarantee you a good sleep. The family who run the hotel are lovely and very welcoming. The owner is very welcoming, trying to do his best for the guests.
This is a family home and they are a wonderful example of the warm local hospitality that seems to be a natural part of the Bukhara experience. The owner can organize taxis and a tour to explore the city. There are actually quite a number of these, small, family run hotels in the Old City but this is an excellent choice for this type of accommodation.
The hotel has an atrium with roof access and all the rooms are decorated in traditional style. Rooms are around a courtyard where you have breakfast, so all facing inwards.
Rooms are not really spacious but well organized, clean and tidy. The rooms are quite comfortable and have very clean en-suite bathrooms with plenty of hot water and a fabulous shower. The bed is comfortable, wi-fi is fast, shower is refreshing. Everything is spotlessly clean.
The breakfast, which is included in the price is freshly made and changed daily. The breakfast is a revelation of fresh fruit, pastries and delicious local treats. The family who own the place is really gentle and helpful, you can ask them to make a homemade Uzbek plov (they will charge you a bit just for products) which would taste better than at any restaurant.
This B&B is definitely recommended if you are planning to explore Bukhara. Warm and clean rooms, helpful hosts, delicious breakfast, central location. The owner is helpful and resourceful. A good choice in Bukhara. Ideal for backpackers.
