Old Khiva Hotel
Islambek hotel is the small private hotel with prime location in Khiva. Hotels is in the heart of the old-town, just 2 minute walk away from Northern Gate (it's possible to climb the town wall and walk there) and with literally 5 minute walk to all major tourist landmarks in this ancient town. Hotel offers taxi service (airport transfers and local tours for reasonable price). There is an open-air terrace with nice view to sit there in the evening. The owners of the hotel are friendly and they are ready to lend a helping hand.
The hotel opened its doors in 2004 and disposes of 21 rooms: 2 single, 16 double and 2 triple rooms. Rooms are quite simple, clean and are equipped with a refrigerator. Beds are large enough and comfortable with clean sheets on it. The room is clean with daily cleaning service in place. The air conditioning is very good.
On the plus side of the hotel, the breakfast is simple but is very good and plentiful. Islambek Hotel has a lovely restaurant and a cozy bar. The rooftop has a beautiful view.
Free Wi-Fi is available at the hotel but unfortunately it works too badly. The staff is kind and helpful - you can speak to them in both English and Russian. The family of the owner is really nice and they do everything is in their hands to help. Run by a family, so supporting local economy when staying there. A business centre is also available.
A very friendly home in the historical center. Considering the price, the value is good!

A comfortable hotel within easy reach of all that needs to be seen in Khiva. It's, supposedly, best or second to best in Khiva, take it; Khiva makes the effort worthy! Service is on a downside, but again for the service better go to smaller boutique hotels that are family run and treat the guests as their own friends. For a short stay of 2 to 3 days, the hotel fits the bill.
