Hotels
This is a good hotel in the top category available in Tashkent. Though it is not a real 5 star hote (4 stars at best) it is still very good and worth considering if you plan to stay in Tashkent. Conveniently located for walking, metro, and taxis on call. Independence Square is a convenient 10-15 minute walk away. There are several delightful restaurants just up the block and around the corner. The hotel itself is imposing and has a grand look. The lobby, reception and bar area have been done up attractively and the entire hotel gives a regal look.
Miran hotel is suitable for business travelers, offering wireless access, television, and printing capability at the front desk.
The carpeted rooms are very spacious, even massive and suite-like. Rooms have full glass on the outside wall, so huge amount of natural light and pleasant outlook from both sides. The décor and selection of furniture, linen, toiletry items, tea/refreshments has been meticulously thought of. Higher floors offer better panorama over the city, so try to ask for a higher floor room. Non smoking rooms are available on a non-smoking floor. The spacious wardrobe-closet contain a room safe large enough for full-size laptop, two dressing gowns-bathrobes, slippers, a shoe horn and shoe polishing sponge. The room has tea making facilities and a bar fridge (check that it is plugged in). The work desk has a flexible light and an office chair. The corner sitting area had a sofa, easy chair, coffee table and table lamp. The free WiFi works well.
The flat-screen TV has around 45 channels in English, Uzbek, Italian, French, German, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Urdu, Turkish, Farsi, Chinese, Kurdish showing a range of news, entertainment, sports, music, cartoons and documentaries. The air conditioning is quiet and works well.
The bathroom has a wall-attached hair dryer and a full bath with shower. Toiletries include solid soap, shampoo, foam bath, body lotion, toothbrushes and paste, razors and shaving cream, shower caps and sanitary bags.
Sauna/Steam/Jacuzzi and heated swimming pool facilities are available. A comfortable bar on site, adjacent to the Lobby.
The breakfast is excellent and has many choices, in particular the daily gruel or porridge, with options of dried fruits, nuts, and fresh fruit. The yogurt is outstanding, with a selection of plain or with jam. The homemade jams are wonderful. At a dedicated counter, you can order eggs cooked to order. Some cooked and pastry items chang from day-to-day. You should find it easy to select items to your taste. Service is courteous, attentive and efficient. One could also eat on the outside patio.
Front desk staff is comfortable with English and very helpful. Wifi is good.
Overall, an excellent hotel (though not a 5*) and good value for money.
