Meridian Hotel Termez is a Soviet style hotel at the most southern city of Uzbekistan. Large rooms with large beds. Clean and tidy, just need a bit of update. Suits are quite strange and are comprised of two rooms joined together with two bathrooms. Comfortable beds but very sparse furnishings. No bedside lights. Tea making facilities present. Sulphurous smell from the plugholes in the bathroom. But rooms are generally quite clean, nice quiet lobby and plenty of parking spaces. Free water in the rooms. Breakfast terrible.
Quite a few restaurants of varying quality nearby.
The hotel offers 16 single, 28 double and twin bed and 6 luxury rooms. This is quite a lot for the place rarely visited by foreign tourists. This is an enormous facility that reminds us for real of a “cathedral in the desert”. So big that you can expect maintenance to be difficult.
Fitness & Wellness: Fitness Centre with modern power machines, Dry Sauna (~100°C), Indoor pool (up to ~ 26°C), free of charge Massage, Barber's Shop & Hairdresser, Fitness Bar.
Internet is free but very slow. Meridian Hotel is supposed to be the best place in town, but still average + friendly and helpful staff
There is not much choice in Termez, but let’s face it: there are plenty of places much much worse you can end up in. Set your expectations right in this part of the world and you'll be all right.
