Malika Prime hotel is the newest one in Malika hotels chain in Uzbekistan and is the second hotel of this chain in Samarkand city after Malika Classic hotel. The hotel has an ideal location right in the center of Samarkand just 30 meters away from Gur-Emir Mausoleum (Tamerlan’s tomb) on a pleasant tree lined avenue and 10-15 minutes by foot from famous Registan square. As said, the Hotel is very close to the Temur Mausoleum but when it comes to drinking/ dining options, the area leaves a lot to be desired. There are a number of small shops with national souvenirs. The hotel is 20 minutes walk to pretty much all the sights you would want to see in Samarkand. This hotel isideal accommodation for budget travelers.
Mailka Prime offers 22 rooms in total including 6 double rooms with king-size bed and 16 rooms with separate twin beds. Malika Prime hotel is a sister hotel of Malika Classic hotel, but rooms at Malika Prime are much smaller, though still of decent size. The bedrooms are fine but not luxurious. Rooms at the backside look out over complete desolation and are not to be recommended. Ask for a front facing room. Rooms are nicely done and clean with modern bathrooms. Bathroom is fully functional with plenty of hot water and good water pressure.
The roof-top restaurant with a nice panoramic view to the incredibly beautiful Gur-emir Mausoleum is a really relaxing spot where one can also taste delicious local food and cold drinks after discovering the ancient Samarkand in hot summer days. One of the main advantages of the hotel is its experienced staff which is always friendly and helpful.
Varied breakfast is good with the typical Uzbek feast. You can also have pretty good evening meal at the hotel.
Wi-fi Internet connection is available for extra payment. The internet works well, although it tends to be a pain to use because it is based off of a cellular network and there is only one USB adaptor for the hotel.
The hotel is clearly a tourist hotel in a major tourist destination, so you get what you pay for - that is nothing fancy, but value for money within walking distance of Samarkand's attractions. All in all nice hotel, feel you like at home atmosphere, tasty Uzbek cousine, friendly stuff, clean rooms and good location in Samarkand. You will really enjoy your stay.
