Hotels
Malika Bukhara Hotel is another hotel in the Malika hotel chain and is located in the heart of ancient glorious Bukhara close to the Lyabi Hovuz complex. A beautiful Colonial brick building 100 years old converted into 4 star hotel in heart of old city. Architecture and interior design are perfect with beautiful inner yard and terrace overlooking Caravan saray next door. Spa center with fitness room, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi. And they have and ice cream bar. In the summer months you can relax in its courtyard by refreshing swimming pool and sun terrace.
The Malika Bukhara hotel is located just at the border where the historical center begins. You just have to step out of the door and start discovering the most interesting sites or go shops hunting for local souvenirs. Several bazaars, restaurants and chaykhana are close to the hotel. Just around the corner is the place surrounding the Lyabi-Hovuz where you can sit among locals having their dinner or tea next to the swimming pool.Enjoy the atmosphere there - it's fascinating!
Accommodation at Malika Bukhara hotel
Hotel provides modern and comfortable rooms. Rooms are small but reasonably convenient. Standard and Luxury rooms are clean, quiet and equipped with air conditioning and satellite TV. But beds area little hard. Bathroom is good with a shower over a bathtub and hot water. Air conditioning is effective and hot water is plentiful. Some rooms be entered from an enclosed courtyard with seating that is quite attractive. All 34 rooms decorated in oriental style and equipped with individually controlled A/C, IDD telephone, satellite TV, bath and shower, mini bar and 24 hours room service. The hotel itself is nice and clean although we recommend a room facing a courtyard. During the hot summer there is virtually no exchange of air which makes it a little stuffy inside the rooms. They do not have tea/coffee maker in room but a call to reception brings it to your door in five minutes.
Dining at Malika Bukhara hotel
Enjoy drinking tea at the summer tea house of the hotel, after exciting sightseeing of the city. Breakfast is acceptable. Considering where you are it fills the bill, but do not expect first world luxury or 5* service. The breakfast room is decorated with nice ancient Asian / Chinese paintings. Very refreshing during the warm summer evenings is the terrace on the roof with a great view where you can have dinner.
They do have free Wi Fi, but it is almost unusable. They also offer a "paid" Wi Fi service, which is only $1 per day. The paid one is indeed faster than the free one. However, when most guests come back in the evening and start using this service, even the paid one is still quite unusable. Since extremely slow internet is a prevalent problem all across Uzbekistan one should not hold this against this charming hotel.
Helpful and friendly young staff and tour desk offering all services incl. airport scuttle, train/air tickets. The attitude of the staff is excellent. If they see you sitting in the courtyard they will automatically bring you tea without being asked. The tea is free. They do offer laundry service and it is not too expensive.
Malika is a special hotel with friendly vibes and perfect location in the heart of old Bukhara city. Rooms, breakfast, everything is all good, highly recommend staying here when you come to Bukhara
