Hotels
The Grand Tashkent Hotel is very close to the airport and the railway station, there are good restaurants in walking distance. Hotel is a bit hard to find, so some help might be needed for first time visitors. Hotel Grand Tashkent provides good access to Tashkent's main attractions, such as Sheykhantaur Complex, 10 minutes' drive away. The Monument of Emir Timur is 8 minutes' drive from the hotel. Driving somewhere is needed all the time as there is nothing interesting nearby. Neighbouring street has several cafes with tasty national food.
The 27 air-conditioned guestrooms at Grand Tashkent Hotel include hair dryers and windows that open. The rooms are very clean, air-conditioned and with a TV. All the classically decorated rooms at Grand Tashkent Hotel include carpeted floors, and slippers are provided in the bathrooms. Beds are narrow and hard but the latter is a matter of taste. There is a pleasant courtyard always empty.
The Grand Tashkent's restaurant serves national cuisine, as well as European specialities. A buffet breakfast is offered every morning, but it's rather basic and absolutely the same every day.
Daytime is helpful and attentive, but night time personnel is poorly trained and not customer focused at all. Good comfortable hotel but a bit further away from city centre.
