"Grand Samarkand Superior" hotel is located in the ancient city of Samarkand. This is a small recently built hotel with modern decor and fittings. The hotel is situated in a quiet, residential part of the city, so is not central to sites and shopping if that is important to you (10 min. by taxi to Registan square at the cost of 8.000 sums which is 1$). It is, however, quiet and relaxing, with a mixed Russian (on the outside) and Asian (on the inside) architecture and atmosphere. The low-ceiled lobby is especially pleasant, and there is an odd but comfortable (high, lounge-like) central courtyard. The theme decor of the hotel is wood and is worth appreciation. Even the birds in the lounge are so beautiful and mind cooling.  There may not be a better hotel in Samarkand, so this might be your best bet.

Everything spotless and very attentive staff always available to assist. The service is excellent and the place has a unique feel. It features a rooftop swimming pool with sun terrace and sun loungers. There is free Wi-Fi in the hotel.

 The rooms while not large are well appointed and well air conditioned. All rooms are decorated in a classic, elegant style and equipped with air conditioning, flat-screen TV, a refrigerator and a private bathroom with bathrobes and slippers.

There is a reasonable restaurant. Interior of the restaurant is decorated with traditional Uzbek carpets. It serves traditional Uzbek and European cuisine. The food in the restaurant is pretty good most of the time. Extensive breakfast buffet every morning and you can order omelet or fried eggs. Besides hotel is close to some good places to eat.

After a long day sightseeing tour, guests can enjoy a massage or relax in the Finnish sauna and an indoor swimming pool. In addition, the hotel has a fitness center.

They do have reserve power source, due to often power cuts in Samarkand but it only partially covers the power needs. The generator doesn't support air conditioning, so the rooms might be very hot in summer time.

Distance from the hotel to the Old Town district and Registan Square is 2 km away. Samarkand International Airport is located in 10 km.

Beautiful boutique hotel, lovely lobby and rooms, very good breakfast and very good n helpful staff. Pleasant and restful place that has a unique feel. A very home like hotel. Highly recommended!
