Grand Mir Hotel has an excellent location with good surrounding malls, eating outs, proximity towards the railway station and the airport. The hotel was built in classic Oriental style in Soviet times. Grand Mir Hotel has been fully refurbished and reconstructed in 2003. Hotel is medium size but has everything 4star hotel should have - business center, haircut shop, few restaurants and roof bar (works in summer), etc. Supermarket and food court directly next door. Grand Mir Hotel is ideally suited both for business and leisure travelers.
Grand Mir Hotel in Tashkent is a mix of modern hotel with oriental hospitality. There are 126 guest rooms in the hotel decorated in classic Oriental style, including 11 Junior Suites, 6 Grand Suites plunging into the luxurious times of the Ottomans and 109 standard single and double rooms. Each room is an ideal combination of comfort, beauty and luxury. Every day a plate of fresh delicious fruits is put in your room. The rooms are large, ideally clean, with crispy sheets and clean-sparkling bathroom. Bathrooms include bathrobes and a hairdryer. Guestrooms are equipped with large two-door wardrobes, make-up table, desk, suitcase rack, IDD telephone, mini-bar, centralized A/C, satellite TV, safe. Unfortunately no coffee/tea facilities in the rooms. The other disadvantage for a smoker is that windows cannot be opened. Actually you can open them after you ask reception to leave a key in your room. If you want noiseless rooms, ask for rooms not facing the square below the hotel.
Grand Mir hotel restaurant and its Turkish chef are well known in Tashkent for delicious meals, most of the travelers who stayed in that hotel separately mention in their testimonials its cuisine. The complimentary breakfast is top-notch. They bake their own pastries on the premises and have homemade jam/preserves, fresh fruit, salads, hot breakfast and brunch dishes. You can have totally different dishes for breakfast. Everything is tasty and great choice. The restaurant on the top is expensive for the country but delicious.
HAREM is a Night Club that is situated at the upper area of the hotel with heart-taking views out of the windows, where you can refresh yourself with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and nice music.
PASHA Bar is located in the lobby area and open 24-hours, with the snacks menu on offer and the best selection of Turkish tea and coffee in Tashkent.You will enjoy the ambiance and the service at the Pasha Bar.
Hotel has WiFi connection for free everywhere. Fitness center is basic, but good enough if you are there for short trip.
Staff is really quite friendly and helpful, most speak fluent English. They will answer questions about directions, things to do, airline phone numbers, etc.
