Antica hotel is easy to locate when approaching from the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum side; enter the furthers left hand entrance through the wall (when facing East) and walk less than 100m down the lane. There are often guys hanging around this entrance through the wall advertising the nearby post office and souvenir shop. The guest house is in walking distance of all the main tourist sightseeing’s in Samarkand,very close to Amir Timur Mausoleum and less than 10 minutes walk to Registan square. The guest house is also within walking distance to down town where you can find shopping, food and eateries. This area also makes for a nice walk during the day.The owners are extremely hospitable and the breakfasts are great.Antica B&B, a 90-second walk from Timur'sGuri-Amir mausoleum, is nestled in a rabbit's warren jumble of a neighborhood, giving the visitor the feel of the sprawling home of a prosperous Silk Road merchant in the pre-czarist khanate. This hotel consists of two different buildings. The principal one has a central charming garden which gives a peaceful and very pleasant atmosphere. Other building is one minute walking through an alley.The staff is very friendly (some of them speak good English). They are also very helpful with getting train tickets or arranging day trips to Urgut or Shakhrisabz.

The breakfast at Antica are alone worth the stay. Every breakfast comes with amazing home-made jams (including mulberry and peach), little cooked treats which vary every day, fresh local bread and green or black tea. The breakfast is amazing because a wonderful selection of traditional and delicious dishes prepared right there in their summer kitchen. The staff can also assist with tourism-related requests (guides, etc). Antica also offers dinners at a traditional house near-by. The dinner is huge with several entree dishes and huge mains. You can also have dinner at the guest house it is equally as delicious. The courtyard is a wonderful place to relax, drink a beer or a cup of tea, and enjoy some homemade apricot jam made of the apricots that grow in that very courtyard.They can arrange traditional dinner in a 19th century house. The house, the family that has owned it for generations and the food are all amazing and it is a real privilege to hear their story and eat their home cooking.It is one of the few places where you can fell like at home.Antica has a nice courtyard where you can sit and have a tea and then stroll around the town. The neighborhood kids try to strike up conversations and say "hello."

The accommodation is clean,decorated in the traditional style, and the staff is amazing. The hospitality is unparalleled; everyone is warm, welcoming, helpful, and kind.You can have a chance to sleep in their old rooms as well as the new rooms. In both cases the rooms are rather small as well as the bathroom. But clean and the old rooms are beautifully decorated with great view of the Gur Amir. The new rooms are less charming but have direct access into the wonderful yard.
