Uzbekistan’s tourism opportunities presented in multiple Chinese provinces

Tourism opportunities in Uzbekistan have been presented in multiple Chinese provinces, including Hong Kong.

As Uzbekistan keeps improving cooperation with China in the field of tourism by promoting the tourist destinations of Uzbekistan among Chinese residents, thus attracting more people to travel to Uzbekistan, another step was taken in that regard.

As a part of activities on promoting the tourism potential of our country in China, several meetings with Chinese provinces, including the special administrative region of China, Hong Kong, have been held.

In the center of the Chinese province of Sichuan, the city of Chengdu, a presentation of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan took place.

The Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan Umid Shodiev met with the representatives of leading travel companies of the Chinese province of Sichuan, the city of Chengdu. They were provided with detailed information about the most popular and promising tourist destinations of Uzbekistan, benefits for investment projects in the tourism sector and new tourist resorts being created in various regions of Uzbekistan.

Organization of info tours to Uzbekistan for travel companies of the province were also discussed, taking into account the launch of direct flights from Chengdu to Tashkent. Launching direct flights from Chengdu to Tashkent is expected to increase the number of tourists from the province traveling to Uzbekistan in 2024.

Another meeting was held in Hainan province of China, in cooperation with the Sanya Tourist Council.

Several tour operators of the province and local airline companies attended the special meeting, where attractive tourist destinations of Uzbekistan, such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and its modern capital Tashkent were presented.

As a measure of expanding new tourist destinations between Uzbekistan and Hainan province, implementing info tours to Uzbekistan for local tour operators has been agreed upon as well.

Hong Kong, the special administrative region of China holds huge tourist exchange potential as well, considering the local population and expats living in the region.

The meeting with the heads of large travel companies in Hong Kong took place in the building of the Hong Kong Tourism Council, including the members of the organization. Considering the high interest of travel companies in the tourism market of Uzbekistan, the parties agreed on practical cooperation in preparing for the new tourist season and strengthening ties with local tour operators.

Considering the large tourism market in China, and the efforts being made to expand cooperation in the tourism industry between the two countries would bring tremendous results in increasing the tourist flow between Uzbekistan and China.
