The 3rd edition of the international tourism fair, "Qatar Travel Mart 2024," recently concluded at the Exhibition and Congress Center in Doha, Qatar. This major event attracted around 12,000 representatives from tourism companies across 35 countries, showcasing popular travel destinations and the latest trends in various tourism sectors, including business, MICE, health, luxury, medical, cultural, sports, and halal tourism.

A significant highlight of the event was Uzbekistan's participation, which was organized by the Uzbek Embassy in Qatar in collaboration with the country's Tourism Committee. This marked Uzbekistan’s first appearance at the fair, with leading Uzbek tourism companies presenting the nation’s rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks to international visitors.

Uzbekistan’s national pavilion drew attention from several prominent Qatari officials, including Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, Chairman of the Qatar Tourism Organization, and Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Qatar, Ashraf Khodjaev, took the opportunity to highlight the historical significance of Uzbekistan’s ancient cities, such as Samarkand and Bukhara, and their contributions to the development of Islamic civilization. The presentation about famous Uzbek cities, demanded destinations in Uzbekistan, and tours to Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva were well-received, with many guests expressing a strong interest in visiting Uzbekistan personally.

The event also piqued the interest of foreign travel companies, who learned about Uzbek travel destinations and the tourism potential through the exhibition. The fair served as a key platform for showcasing the country's diverse offerings to industry professionals and influential figures.

In addition to the exhibition, the fair hosted an international conference, along with B2B and B2C meetings, where experts discussed opportunities for investment in tourism infrastructure and the development of new projects. Negotiations with representatives from leading Qatari tourism companies resulted in preliminary agreements to attract more Qatari tourists to Uzbekistan starting in 2025. Furthermore, Qatari tour operators expressed their willingness to participate in international tourism exhibitions held in Uzbekistan.

The "Qatar Travel Mart" is the largest tourism exhibition in Qatar, designed to enhance the competitiveness of the tourism sector, foster international cooperation, and promote cultural and tourism resources from various countries.
