It should be noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Romania is developing very successfully in all areas, including culture and tourism. We can see many Romanian tourists traveling in Uzbekistan’s various cities, including the capital Tashkent, ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. Romanian tourists usually take a tour to Uzbekistan in smaller groups of 10-20 people, where the trip to Uzbekistan covers visiting Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent.
As cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Romania strengthens, Romania was represented at the Tashkent International Jazz Festival by the group “Ineffable” in 2023. For the last two years, Romania has been participating annually in the Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road”.
In addition to the above, this year, Romania took part in the International Folklore Festival “Boysun Bahori” for the first time with an excellent performance by the artistic ensemble “Doina Gorgiului” from the city of Targu Jiu.
On December 18, 2022, the Embassy of Romania received a Certificate of Gratitude from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan for its contribution to the development and strengthening of bilateral and multilateral relations with the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The 8th International Jazz Festival in Tashkent will last through Sunday 12 May and we encourage all tourists visiting Uzbekistan in these days to attend this wonderful cultural event in Tashkent to make the trip to Uzbekistan more vivid and memorable.
