Uzbekistan and Malaysia signed agreement in launching charter flights between Kuala Lumpur and Tashkent cities.
The first charter flight of Malaysia Airlines from Kuala Lumpur to Tashkent is scheduled for 9 July 2022, which will be operated by A330-200 with a capacity of 287 passengers. Then flights will operate every 10 days.
Uzbek Embassy in Malaysia hosted a ceremony of signing an agreement between the national airline of Malaysia "Malaysia Airlines" and the Uzbek tourist operator "Osmon Aero" on the organization of charter flights for Kuala Lumpur - Tashkent - Kuala Lumpur.
The agreement was signed by the Director of Global Sales of Malaysia Airlines Roslan Ismail and the General Director of Osmon Aero Anastasia Arushanova.
The event was also attended by tourism representatives of Uzbekistan and Malaysia: Director General of Islamic Tourism Center of Malaysia Mohmed Razip Hasan, Vice Presidents of the Malaysian Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators (MATTA) Azri Abd Razak and Gannesh Rama. Other representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia Foreign Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE ), Tourism Promotion Council, as well as more than 30 travel companies and media also participated in the ceremony.
The CEO of the Malaysia Airlines Group of Companies noted that the new agreement will allow the Malaysian air carrier to expand its presence outside the current network and will contribute to the resumption of the tourism industry in Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
The Malaysian side also noted that thanks to the launch of a new charter route, travelers will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the diverse culture and traditions of the peoples of the two countries, discover the famous sights and hidden gems of Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
The availability of direct flights and the variety of tour packages offered by both Uzbek and Malaysian tour operators were mentioned as the key factor in the resuming tourist exchanges between the two countries. In this regard, the launch of long-awaited direct flights and the activity of travel companies of Uzbekistan and Malaysia expand opportunities for increasing the flow of tourists and contribute to the promoting Malaysia and Uzbekistan as attractive destinations for tourism. Ziarat tourism was noted as a promising destination with huge perspective for both countries.
