Great news for those planning to travel to Turkmenistan in the new year: Turkmenistan Airlines is expanding its international flight routes this year.

Turkmenistan Airlines plans to expand its network of international flights in various directions in the first quarter of 2024.

Turkmenistan has already resumed regular flights to Abu Dhabi from Ashgabat after the long break due to the pandemic. In February 2024, it is planned to launch flights to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Ashgabat-Kuala Lumpur flights will operate twice a week starting from February 15, and from 16 February this year, and flights in the Ashgabat-Jeddah direction will operate three times a week.

Starting on 5 March 2024, the Ashgabat-Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) route will be launched, where flights are expected to operate twice a week as well. There will be a flight on the Ashgabat-Milan (Italy) route once a week from 6 March 2024.

The resumption of regular flights from Ashgabat to Malpensa airport has already been announced, which is especially convenient for passengers traveling to Vietnam from Italy.

Due to the expansion of international flight routes and the number of flights to Turkmenistan, a new Boeing 777-300 ER passenger aircraft was purchased by Turkmenistan and arrived in Ashgabat Airport on 5 January this year.

The aircraft from the American company Boeing was purchased as part of the modernization of civil aviation infrastructure in accordance with the National Program for the Development of Civil Aviation of Turkmenistan until 2030.

This is already the second Boeing aircraft delivered to Turkmenistan. The first passenger plane arrived at Ashgabat airport on December 4, 2023. The new Boeing aircraft is highly comfortable and can carry 368 passengers. The new aircraft has 40 seats in business class, 32 in premium economy, and 296 seats in economy class.

The new Boeing 777-300 ER passenger aircraft has two powerful GE90-115BL2 engines, can cover a distance of 11,390 kilometers and carry out international transportation with cargo up to 40 tons.
