On February 1, the Dushanbe City Hall will host complimentary bus tours along the “Sada Celebration” route for both residents and visitors of the capital, as reported by the tourism development department of the city administration to Asia-Plus. The Sada Festival is one of the ancient celebrations of the Aryan peoples, observed in Tajikistan, heralding the arrival of spring.
On Saturday, February 1, both locals and guests in Dushanbe will have the opportunity to celebrate this festival by visiting the capital's Abulkosim Firdavsi Culture and Recreation Park. The festivities will kick off at 9:00 AM.
This one-day excursion is organized to promote tourism, develop a national brand, and ensure the preservation and rational use of the country's natural and cultural resources, as well as its historical and cultural heritage, officials from the municipality noted.
Participation in the tour is open to diplomats, foreign students, tourists, employees from various city organizations, and representatives from the media. Guides will provide information in Tajik, Russian, and English, focusing on both the opportunities for tourists in Dushanbe and the significance of the Sada Festival itself.
Ministries, governmental agencies, and tourism companies are encouraged to facilitate the participation of guests and tourists in the “Sada Celebration” tour through the official pages of the Dushanbe tourism development department. Registration can be done via Facebook (Dushanbe-travel), Instagram (dushanbe.travel), Telegram (dushanbe.travel), TikTok (dushanbe.travel), or by email at rushdi.sayohi@gmail.com. For inquiries, participants can contact: 2231829; 917370707; or 003881616 (via WhatsApp).
Participants are expected to gather at 8:00 AM on February 1 at the Ismaili Somoni Monument. The tour will commence at 8:30 AM, taking guests across the city to the Sada celebration venue at Firdavsi Park.
It is worth noting that in 2017, amendments were made to the Republic of Tajikistan's law on public holidays, establishing that the Sada Festival is celebrated annually at the end of January. The festival was first celebrated in January 2018, occurring 50 days prior to Navruz.
Following this date, farmers begin preparing for spring work and lay plans for the future, including the establishment of new orchards, vineyards, and fields. It is customary during this time to engage in cleaning activities and improvement initiatives.
