Accommodation facilities in Uzbekistan are to transfer their guests to the "duty hotels"

In order to provide uninterrupted services to the guests and to avoid unnecessary expenses to support the accommodation units, managers of hotels and other accommodation facilities are advised to transfer the guests to a “duty hotel” in agreement with the guests themselves. This has been reported by the Touristic Activities Certification Center.

Based on the proposals and suggestions provided by the specialists and professionals in the tourism field and in accordance with the agreement with hotel owners, 25 hotels have been identified as on duty in Uzbekistan.

As we all know, the current situation with the pandemic COVID-19 has negatively impacted the touristic field in the country, as well as worldwide, and particularly the hotel businesses. During the quarantine that has been implemented in Uzbekistan, many accommodation facilities have temporarily suspended their operation, however some of them remain open due to the very few guests, who are staying there not being able to leave the country or the region.

We would like to remind that between 30 March and 20 April, 2020 all transportation services between Tashkent and other regions of Uzbekistan are to be carried out only by special permission stickers issued by the State Services. Due to the current restrictions, food and beverage services to the guests, as well as general services provision and the staff attendance of the workplaces have been facing certain issues. Moreover, in some cases the expenses spent on providing services to very limited number of guests cannot be covered at all.

Taking the current situation into account and due to the abovementioned reasons, in the aim of providing uninterrupted services to the guests and to avoid unnecessary expenses to maintain the accommodation facilities, managements of the services are advised to transfer the guests to the duty hotels in agreement with the guests themselves.
