About Uzbekistan
Kyzyl Canyon
Not far from the village of Kofrun, on the way to Kumkurgan there is a unique nature monument Kyzyl canyon. Stretching for 30 km, it is a unique closed ecosystem with its amazing flora and fauna. Thousands of years of erosion, wind and water left their prints on the guise of a canyon reminiscent of the places from another words. Cut by hundreds of gorges, consisting of stone labyrinths, Kyzyl is a stony desert.
The canyon completely dries up by the end of May, and only rare springs such as Batmabulak, Bitau and Itbulak remain available throughout the year. The highest point of the canyon is Mount Buritakht (1218m).
