  • Badak lake is a gem of Ugam-Chatkal National Park. It is located at an altitude of 1,700 m. above sea level. The name Badak is of Turkic origin, which means "broad." The lake stretches from East to West more than a kilometer, in width it reaches more than 200 meters, the maximum depth is 23.2 m.

It has an interesting feature of changing color depending on the time of day: in early morning it is blue-green, later at noon it becomes bluish, at sunset it becomes silvery.

Near the Badak one can find picturesque small creeks, next to which there are a lot of shady places to relax.

Trekkers usually start their way to Badak lake from Dzhauzhurek village crossing the slabby bridge over the Pskem river. A wide path leads down to the say (small river). After passing the hill the road splits - it is recommended to take the one that goes up. On the way you will see several natural dams. The views are very picturesque and worth the efforts.
