Shaherezada Khiva Hotel is situated in the Ichan Kala (Inner City) of ancient Khiva. Ichan Kala is an open-air museum and almost all of the ancient buildings are situated there. This hotel is situated among these ancient buildings and monuments of Khiva. Nice quiet location in the old city near the South gate. The hotel is beautiful and looks modern. The location is peaceful and is away from the city. The main sightseeing destinations are nearby. Just outside their front door is the south gate of glorious Khiva and a short walk through the twisting, unpaved lanes will take you to all the sites of this town. It is a very nice house, with many wooden artwork made by the owner, who also has a workshop in the city center. It is owned and run by 7 brothers who are carpenters for generations. All furniture, doors, ceilings, stairs are beutifully carved by them.
There are 12 rooms in a two-storied building, 3 rooms are single, 5 rooms are double, 2 rooms are triple and 2 rooms are four-seated. Rooms are very basic, but clean and adequate for a short stay. Water runs slowly without any pressure. The building of the hotel was built on a basis of ancient Khiva architectural arts and rooms are decorated with decorative hand carving arts. There are air-conditioning system, TV-set, toilet, bath in every room. Very clean spacious rooms, excellent breakfast and warm, friendly service. The rooms are luxurious and clean with a tastefully done decor. The entire hotel premises are clean and well maintained. Everything looks new and well done. The beds are soft with adequate bedding material. The furniture provided is modern and nice. The curtains are of good quality.
There is beautiful interior with a nice porch to relax, having a drink and watch life go by. There is wonderful breakfast room and great breakfast with lots of dried fruits and nuts. Breakfast also includes freshly baked bread, home made jam and pretty good coffee. The staff and the management do a good job. They are quite friendly.
A lovely family run hotel just inside the city walls and great location to explore this fabulous city of Khiva. Rooms are nice, breakfast is great, staff is very friendly and accommodating, location is very good. It is a family run place and is well worth the stay.
